Hermie & Chester are available as a pair, their adoption fee is $175. Both have been rabies vaccinated. Chester is about 3 years old, Hermie‘s age in unknown (estimated 3-5 years). Hermie is a big nippy and would not be a good fit for a family with small children (less than 12 years); he will start to bite if he wants to be put down and sometimes in his cage. He has come a long way though from when he first got to his foster home. Chester is a typical crazy ferret. Looking for their forever home and to provide you with hours of entertainment!
Flower City Critters Small Animal Rescue needs dedicated foster homes. We prioritize intake with the city shelter asking for help, medical emergencies, strays, and abused animals. Right now we are most in need of RABBIT & RAT fosters!
Please fill out our foster/volunteer application; one of our coordinators will be in touch with you.
*Special Notes* You must be 18 years old to volunteer. If you want to foster you MUST be the owner of the home/renter of the apartment.
When you foster for Flower City Critters you are never on your own! You will have a foster coordinator that will help you through the process and always be your guide.
Volunteers are also needed for events, transport, and social media. Just because you cannot foster does not mean you cannot help. Please submit your application today!
Flower City Critters Small Animal Rescue is a 100% volunteer run registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Based in Rochester, NY we are dedicated to ensuring the welfare of all small animals and placing them in loving homes.
Our organization adopts out small animals to educated & loving homes. Flower City Critters is Rochester's only official non-profit animal rescue organization that is solely dedicated to small animals. Small animals are considered exotic pets and have fewer resources available to them.
We take in animals based on priority including pulling those from the local shelter, strays, and abused/neglected animals. All pets are placed on a proper diet while in foster care and receive behavioral & medical help when needed.
We strive to educate the community on small animal needs so that everyone has the opportunity to give their pet the best care possible!
Adoption is the best choice! Your new pet has been taken care of by a foster who has gotten to know them. Each animal has their own unique personality. We know their likes & dislikes, their favorite things to do, and can best guide you how to prepare for that particular animal. It's nice to have a little knowledge before bringing home a new family member.
Your generous tax-deductible donation helps us continue our mission!
